A simple storyteller.

I grew up with a fiddle in my hands and an eye on the mountains.

I can’t tell you my destination, only my starting point. My life has been shaped by the written word and saved by the living Word. I have grown through metered musings and paint palettes and an old piano that slowly gave up the task of holding its tune. I am a struggling skeptic and a fearful faithful. I don’t like songs that feel neat and tidy. I’m at home in a room full of musicians without sheet music.

And I didn’t ever expect to be writing about how I became a singer-songwriter. I think that’s the summation of the story: I didn’t plan to be here, yet here I am. So since I still don’t know where I’m going, all my about page should really say is this:

Hi, I’m Madison Marlyn! I sometimes write songs, and I’m trying to oftentimes share them. I have been blessed by the chance to make seven of those songs sound as good as they possible can. My dream is to do that for more of my songs.

I hope they minister to your soul.

An album created while in the wilderness of life.

While In The Wilderness is the debut album of singer-songwriter Madison Marlyn. Produced by Travis Motley of Diamond Productions, this seven-track album captures Madison’s encounters with God in the wilderness. This album has tracks that explore being homesick for heaven, wrestling with physical pain and suffering, the struggle of a changing season, and carrying doubts and failing faith. With a blend of folk, bluegrass, and Celtic roots, these songs touch on the universal experiences of this broken world and bring in gentle reminders to set our eyes on things above.
